The wait for a great PS2 adventure game is finally over. The one genre the system had been lacking is now being fulfilled by a horny little bastard by the name of ICO.

What is it about this unusual little boy that strikes everyone who grasps this game into hours of immersive entertainment? Only the gaming gods know that one, but what I do know is that this is a great title to own for the PS2.

First and foremost let's discuss the visuals. Probably some of the most incredible scope I have yet to see on a console system. This game pushes the boundaries of polygons and textures only Hideo Kojima could match. Needless to say this game is visually breathtaking.

The sounds are nice and cutesy for a little while then eventually become over abundant and annoying. The character voices are nicely done but to be truthful I am sick of yelling for that crazy woman to follow me. All in all the sound is just average.

Controls can be annoying sometimes as the camera tends to wander off in it's own little world. The movement could be a little smoother and the battle system a little more fine tuned. Other than that the only major complaint I have is that the game really lacks a sense of adventure after about 3-4 hours of gameplay. Things begin to start repeating and puzzles become less and less of a challenge.

Overall this is a game you may want to rent, but for the hardcore adventure gamer in all of us this is a great title. Reminiscent of Flashback, Out of This World and many other greats this game will bring hours of fun to those who give it a fair chance.
